Pismo Beach is shaped by a powerful natural system that connects land and sea.
A recent video produced by SLO CAL highlights some of the work done in our community on the Pismo Clam. Led by Cal Poly’s Center for Coastal and Marine Sciences, the project tracks the return of Pismo clams to our shores after 30 years and studies what their comeback says about the health of our marine environment.
Thanks to support from the Pismo Beach Conference & Visitors Bureau, this research continues to grow, supporting local science, informing conservation efforts, and celebrating the unique ecology that sets Pismo Beach apart.
